NYFW (Feb. 10th-15th) is one of the busiest times in New York with an influx of global fashionistas, from designers, to industry executives, to supermodels, fashion-lovers, and of course, party-lovers traveling to the city to be part of the action. Lobby bars transform into networking hubs and the hotel you stay at will vary based on your social calendar.
The Travel Fwrd team is breaking down our favorite hotels and areas to enjoy during NYFW:
Stay Uptown for classic charm and elegance.
Image Description: The Mark, www.themarkhotel.com
The Mark hotel is a favorite amongst fashion icons like Anna Wintour during NYFW. The hotel gears its offerings to the fashion week crowd with 24/7 access to Bergdorf Goodman for last minute outfit refreshes, Frédéric Fekkai (the legend himself) at Salon Mark Hotel for touch ups in between events, live streaming of the runways shows in the lobby, and a world-class scene at The Mark Bar & Restaurant.
Stay in Tribeca for close proximity to Spring Studios, a key destination for many of the runway shows and events during NYFW.
Located just steps away from fashion show destination Spring Studios, Soho Grand is a classic mainstay for the fashion industry crowd, especially during NYFW and last year it was even the destination for some of the shows. Enjoy the upscale lobby bar or the exclusive nightclub with industry folks and models in between shows.
Just opened, this is Hôtels Barrière group’s latest establishment and is bound to be a hotspot during NYFW for in-the-know attendees due to its close proximity to Spring Studios. This hotel brings Paris to NYC from its cocktail and dining program to its spa.
Stay Downtown to be amongst a truly creative crowd from world renowned photographers and film industry folks to emerging designers.
This upscale hotel and its lobby bar, Swan Room, sprouted up this summer in the otherwise gritty-cool “Dimes Square” area on the border of the Lower East Side and ChinaTown and is rumored to have the coldest martinis in town. The restored bank building truly transports you back in time, perhaps that’s why it’s a favorite amongst creatives, actors, and filmmakers.
Staying in Midtown is ideal for industry professionals as many fashion brand headquarters are located in the area.
See and be seen this season with a stay at The Times Square EDITION hotel. For those looking to mix business with pleasure during New York Fashion Week, the hotel’s Paradise Club will hold a variety of events and the Lobby Bar is an intimate location to grab drinks with industry friends. Staying in Times Square or midtown can be hectic, but it’s often a necessity when it comes to visiting showrooms and fashion offices which are often located in the vicinity making this hotel the perfect choice for fashion business professionals.
